Car Audio Subwoofers for Dummies: A How-To Installation Guide

Car Audio Subwoofers for Dummies: A How-To Installation Guide Tube. Duration : 5.72 Mins.

You want the big musical boom in your car, but you don't know anything about car audio! This video should assist in helping make that dream come true. Here is my setup for your reference: *KAC-8104D Kenwood Class D Mono 1000W Amplifier *12 Inch Kenwood Subwoofer *12 Inch Sealed Enclosure *Standard Wiring Kit from Best Buy: tinyurl.com *Speaker Wire to RCA adapter: tinyurl.com (Tap the speaker wire end into a speaker near your amp, and use the RCA output for your amplifier) Use this adapter ONLY if your stereo head unit DOES NOT have an RCA output. My amp is drilled into the enclosure and my enclosure is drilled into the trunk of my car. It is also recommended to add a grille in front of your subwoofer speaker to prevent any accidental damage. Some clarification notes: The Power Control wire goes to the back of the head unit/stereo. If your stereo does not have the proper connection, then it goes to the vehicle's fuse box and attaches itself to an open fuse that gathers power only when the car's ignition is ON. The Negative Wire hooks up to a ground point nearest the amplifier. The Subwoofer Output (positive and negative wires) hook up to the side of the enclosure. The RCA input runs from the amp to your head unit OR to your tapped speaker adapter (depending on the method you use to hook it up).
