In this video, I show and explain some common issues with the Acer Aspire One netbook, and show a mod to the cooling system, plus compare wireless adapters between the netbook's adapter, and a Dell Inspiron notebook's adapter. Conclusion (After the upgrades): WiFi card replacement... With the new WiFi adapter from the Dell, the netbook seems to do better, even in areas with low reception. Even at 2/5 bars, the computer no longer drops the connection, and browsing the web seem fine. Cooling Mod... Temps do still seem to be the same, but things are different. The VGA connector doesn't get near as hot, and the computer gets hot on the bottom, which tells me that the heatsinks are absorbing much of the heat from the stock metal plate. With the heatsinks in place, the fan noise is not as loud as before.
